Tips

I have set up this page to help “newbies” like myself. Like I said in my home page, I have only been doing this for a short while. I have learned some things the hard way. I hope I can help someone not travel down that path.
  1. NEVER, EVER, go against your gut instinct! If you feel as though you might be buying a kitten from a shady breeder, or that they may be unhealthy-you are probably right and you will save yourself a lot of heartache later on.
  2. The best way to get started is to have a mentor. I strongly recommend finding an experienced CFA breeder to help you out. If it was not for an experienced breeder helping me along I would have tossed in the towel a long time ago! (Thank you Eva Poe from Countryview Cattery!)
  3. The CFA website is a wealth of information. www.cfa.org
  4. Do not think that breeding is a way of making money. You may break even if that.
  5. Join a club. www.indycatclub.com
